▪ The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners (BoC) continues online work follow up in registration centers.
▪ The CEO visits (Baghdad/ El-Rusafa) Elections Office.
▪ IHEC continues the biometric voter registration project.
      In coincide with the organized successive sessions held by the Chairman and members of the Board of Commissioners in the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC); the Board continues its periodic and direct follow up the technical and operational activities, and the mechanism of implementing the issued decisions,in coordination with the Electoral Administration office, the General Secretariat of the Council, and the Department of Political Parties and Organizations’ Affairs.
In the context of work follow-up, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge (Jalil Adnan Khalaf), has met with the coordinator of the first constituency in (Al-Qadisiyah) province, and the directors of the first constituency’s registration centers in the governorate, in the presence of both assistants of the (CEO); to stand on their achievements in the success of the biometric registration process and the distribution of the biometric voters’ card; To guarantee the constitutional rights of voters of casting their votes.
In order to upgrade IHEC technical readiness for the upcoming electoral events, the chief executive officer (CEO) , Judge (Abbas Al-Fatlawi), instructed to prepare the 2023- detailed annual plan, concerning the work of departments and divisions in IHEC, which is one of the stages of the five-year strategic plan; he also instructed the directors of the GEOs to follow up the work of the registration centers and facilitate the procedures of voters’ biometric registration. Then the (CEO) began his field visits to follow up the work, starting with (Baghdad/Rusafa) electoral office; To be directly informed with the preparation of the technical, administrative and logistical aspects of the office, in addition to examining aspects of the preventive safety of electoral devices and equipments, and directing the competent committees to ensure that the batteries of electoral devices are charged and maintained to preserve them and to follow up on camera systems to ensure the safety of stored materials.
In a related context, IHEC is keen to implement safety and security measures through the (Civil Defence Department), which in turn works in coordination with the (Civil Defense Directorate) to secure the necessary protection for all buildings belonging to (IHEC) by taking a number of measures, including the providing of fire extinguishing systems and the development of a rescue plan for risks, And training the working group to implement these measures, through training workshops on preventive safety measures, as they were implemented in the governorates OF (Wasit, Erbil and Duhok) and will be implemented in the rest of the GEOs, in addition to the continuous follow-up of the procedures of the occupational safety divisions in the offices of all GEOs.
In the technical aspect concerns the work of the governorate electoral offices GEOs, the biometric registration project resulted in the registration of (936,543) voters, including (660,133) 2004 new born voters, while registration centers and roving teams distributed (124,684) biometric cards, classified as (605.138) cards for public voting, and (996.497) cards for private voting by security services and the armed forces. As for the cards for the IDPs, (523.47) cards were distributed, in the presence of (1,701) local observers, and (270) political party agents.
The Communication Center Unit in the National Office is continuing to answer voters’ inquiries through the toll-free number (5667).

Within the framework of enhancing the electoral awareness which considered the organizational identity of IHEC; the Training and Development Department worked on preparing (Election Day) project which targets the employees of the National Office and the governorate offices according to a specific timetable of the year 2023. The project includes several aspects, including: (electoral procedures, forms of electoral administration, legal frameworks, cyber security, voting procedures according to the electronic system, the mechanism of tabulating and announcing results, reviewing international experiences and electoral systems therein) and other electoral aspects.
