▪️ Talks are ongoing to resolve the issue of operational and electoral contract-personnel .

▪️Both registration and voters’ cards’ distribution processes continue in all of the governorates of Iraq.

As the chairman of the board of Commissioners (BoC ) paid a great interest in the rights of IHEC ‘s operational and electoral contract-personnel for their positive and active role in supporting the work of IHEC.
the chairman of the board is seeking to get the approvals to appoint operational contract-personnel who completed the legal period provided by law; and transfer them to permanent staff. And transfer the electoral contract – personnel to operational employees.
Concerned authorities have been addressed in this regard prior to submit the issue to the Council of ministers. Also addressing the Ministry of planning to identify the available occupational degrees for contract-employees for the same purpose.
To continue with the periodic meetings, the chairman of (BoC ) holds an expanded online meeting with the registration centers managers in the first constituency in Basra governorate, in the presence of a number of Directors generals, number of departments and divisions , for the purpose of communicating and following up on the tasks assigned to them and reviewing the work progress and providing the necessary needs for the work requirements to ensure the achievement of comprehensive quality aspects in electoral work.
On the other hand, IHEC is committed to implement the instructions set by the budget law regarding revenues and fees for(2020-2021) to the Ministry of finance, as IHEC is one of the institutions of central funding.
On another side ,IHEC via its national office, and the Governorate electoral offices (GEOs) continues the campaign of electoral education through reading, audio and visual materials in the local media; to motivate voters to register their biometric data in electoral centers; and receive their electoral cards, taking into account technical and creative standards in order to achieve the objectives of electoral awareness, as well as organizing workshops and educational seminars in the governorates of (Holy Karbala , Qadisiyah, Diyala, Wasit, Baghdad /Rusafa, Muthanna and Babylon ). With these efforts, ( 417,104) voters were registered , including (101,209) new-borns’ voters of 2004. IHEC distributed ( 2,632,015) biometric cards, which included ( 88,891) biometric cards for public voting and (440,397) biometric cards for private voting, while IDPs cards were (42,139) biometric cards in the presence of (1.460) local observers and (235) political party agents.
The communication centre unit at the national office continues to answer voters ‘ inquiries via the toll-free number (5667).

In a related context ,IHEC is seeking to provide facilities to voters regarding both, the biometric registration and distribution of the electoral cards ‘ processes. It also communicated with the ministries of (health, interior, higher education and scientific research, and trade) for the purpose of cooperation with mobile teams send to the institutions of these ministries in all governorates of Iraq, to facilitate their job in registering their staff members .
The Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq, in cooperation with the Ministry of industry and Minerals, has completed the recycling the ballot papers, in addition to the used and unused forms to benefit from them, including the tabulated and electronically archived in Baghdad electoral offices of both sides ( Rusafa and KARKH) , with preparing work for this with the rest of the GEOs respectively.
