Statement

The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) continues today, Friday, 22nd of October, to consider the appeals by the relevant department, as (295) appeals were rejected by the Board of Commissioners this Friday  for various reasons, the most important is the non-contribution of evidence, or asviolations of the provisions of Article 38 / first of the Iraqi Parliament Elections Code in force, as the appellant did not specify the polling station or center against whose results he is appealing against and he requests to open all stations of the constituency or that the announced results were matching. These appeals will be sent, with the recommendation,to the electoral judicial panel to handle them in accordance with the law.

The BoC also decided to the manual re-counting and sorting of some challengedelectoral stations based on the appeal of a candidate in Kirkuk governorate, as it was supported by evidences. The BoC will submitthe appropriate recommendation in this regard after completing the procedures for manual sorting and counting.

The sorting and counting of votes manually will take place in the presence of representatives of the competing candidates at these stations according to dates, procedures and mechanisms to be determined later and notified before an appropriate period.

The rest of the appeals will be considered successively, provided that IHEC will state the daily report of the appeals continuouslyaccording to what is considered daily until they all completed.
