▪The board of Commissioners (BoC) approves the third quarterly report for 2022, including the different activities of IHEC .

▪Intensive work at the level of the governorates of Iraq in order to raise the percentage of voters’ biometric registration and distribution of voters’ Cards.

A regular meeting was held by the board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq ( IHEC ); in which it approved the third quarterly report for 2022, as stipulated in Article (10) of the Law No. 31 of 2019, from( the 1st of July to the 30th of September 2022) , which included technical, administrative and legal achievements and activities during this period. Since IHEC has been adopting the principle of transparency in the performance of its work, the (BoC) was keening that the Iraqi Council of Representatives should be informed of the progress of work’s joints in the corridors of IHEC for it is the Supervisory Authority.
Within the framework of exchanging of international and electoral experiences, a delegation from the members of the Board of Commissioners in (IHEC) have been invited to the Republic of South Africa by its Electoral Commission , under the Coordination of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI); in order to get acquainted with international experiences. Defining the works mechanisms that led to the success of the 10th October 2021 elections in Iraq.
The electoral voter’s education is ongoing for the project of (Biometric Voter’s Registration and the distribution of electoral cards). Hence the Governorate Electoral Offices (GEOs) organized many workshops and seminars in provinces of Karbala, Diyala, Muthanna, SalahulDin, Baghdad/ Rusafa, Babil, Diwaniyah, and Wasit; to explain the objectives of the biometric registration project and activate the work of mobile teams to increase the percentage of voters’ biometric registration and voters cards’ distribution.
In addition to urge the departments and institutions’ employees to participate in registratering their data biometrically to receive their electoral cards. Also communicating with the district-mukhtar and food rationing’s agents in a number of provincial districts; to organize tables containing the names of families and their members according to the ration card, and to urge unregistered voters to visit registration centers and cooperate with mobile teams if the electoral offices.
The efforts of the staff members of the governorates electoral offices and their registration centers were fruitful, as (398,253) voters were registered, and (560,962) biometric cards were distributed. in the presence of (1450) local observers and (234) political party agents.

IHEC continues its follow-up and monitoring of the activities of the political parties, through the (parties and political organizations Affairs and the candidates’ affairs) Directorate and its divisions in GEOs. This was achieved by field visits to the headquarters of these political parties to see how they are committed to regulations and instructions they obliged to , as well as coordinating efforts to make a positive role by urging their people to register their biometric data and to receive their electoral biometric cards.
In order to safeguard the security and safety of the registration centers and warehouses belonging to IHEC , the National Bureau and the competent divisions in GEOs, continued its security coordination; to fortify all facilities belonging to IHEC, and secure the work of the sub-centers and mobile teams. And accompany them in their biometric registration process .
IHEC coordination with the preventive safety committees and the Civil Defence Directorate, is ongoing to follow up and inspect fire systems periodically to preserve offices and warehouses equipments.
