One year after the Iraqi Council of Representatives October,2021 elections , which was conducted according to the international standards of accuracy in procedures, transparency, fairness and impartiality, (IHEC) the Independent High Electoral Commission started coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of industry and minerals/ General company for petrochemical industries / school supplies factory and the Iraqi company for the manufacture and trade of cardboard and its accessories_ which will recycle the ballot papers, and the used and unused forms , after classifying them in programs prepared for this purpose, in order to preserve the data and statistics of the electoral process.
Under the guidance of the chairman of the board of Commissioners on the need to communicate with voters from all community layers, and segments who represent the Iraqi society sects, to ensure their right in the biometric registration process then have their biometric electoral voter’s card, so it started coordinating its work with the media and Communications commission by sending text messages including the toll-free number(5667) allocated by IHEC, in Arabic, Kurdish and Turkmen languages.
After resuming the biometric registration and distribution of the biometric voter card since 20/3/2022, IHEC has registered biometrically (332. 244) voters , distributed (515.030) classified biometric cards, (71.024) cards for public voting , and (402.992)) cards for special voting concerns the security authorities and Armed Forces. While IDPs and displaced persons’ cards were (41.013) cards.

In the manner of its keenness to communicate with the Iraqi public and public opinion, IHEC , through the mass media and communication department, has allocated a “special barcode (QR)” to be informed with the website and official social media platforms of the commission for the purpose of following the course and activities of electoral work.
