The operational committee formed which is by a ministerial order, holds its periodic meetings to support IHEC ‘s work of in the development technical aspects of programs and techniques used in several electoral fields , including researching and studying the mechanism of registering voters abroad to ensure their right to vote in the upcoming electoral entitlements.
The committee also discussed how to target all unregistered voters and newborns who have reached the age of eighteen , as well as facilitating the procedures of registration, distribution and welcoming of voters, as the commission biometrically registered ( 121,075) voters, also the registration centers have distributed( 258.333) biometric voter’s card, where ( 22.623) card were distributed for the general voting , (216.161) voter’s card for the special voting, and (19.549) for the IDPs. This work was supported by( 998) mobile_ teams.
In the same context, a committee was formed to facilitate the procedures of the voting process for voters with physical disabilities who were entitled to participate in the electoral process.
With the formation of the strategic planning team, the international Electoral Assistance Team (UNAMI) organized a workshop awareness strategy planning and development of media messages and election campaigns, and strengthen media communication and Mass Communication.
As to the instruction of of CEO to the Department of operations and information technology, of the necessity to set up surveillance camera , a fire extinguishing and early warning systems for fires and provide the necessary protection to guarantee the safety of materials in the stores , also working and following up for 24-hour straight, in coordination with the Directorate of civil defense, emphasizing on the necessity of continuous communication with the security authorities in order to maintain security coordination in securing electoral offices, registration centers, mobile biometric registration teams, and its warehouses.
