– IHEC resumes working with the Biometric project.
– Individuals born in 2004 , are on the list of new voters.
– IHEC is working on the distributing of the biometric cards.
In order to preserve the constitutional right to participate in the elections, the Independent High Electoral Commission invites those born in the year (2004) of new voters who have reached the age of (18), to visit the nearest registration center for the purpose of registering their textual and biometric data ongoing with the biometric registration project which continues to receive the unregistered voters. In addition to the (1,648,993) unregistered voters born in the years (2003,2002,2001).
In a related context, the Electoral Commission will resume the process of distributing the remaining (2,130,000) unreceived biometric cards related to all voters ( public and special), on the condition of withdrew the old cards , if any, or showing the withdrawal receipt if the old card. Official notification of voter card loss should be submitted.
the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge (Jalil Adnan Khalaf), is following up work directly in the Directorate of Political Parties & Organizations, in order to determine the level of work in it
and provide the necessary needs for its work requirements, it continues the process of political party registration, follow-up and evaluation of the previously registered ones through field visits done by the Directorate staff in it and its staff in GEOs , these visits were to see the practical reality of the political party main headquarters and to the subsidiary onces.
Administratively and technically, directors of governorate electoral offices continue to conduct field visits to follow up on registration centers to determine their preparations and needs to receive voters, as well as security coordination with the relevant security authorities to maintain the security and safety of voters and electoral centers; This came under the instructions of the CEO , Judge ( Amer Musa Al-Hussaini) , to facilitate the registration and distribution process.
The Independent High Electoral Commission is organizing a workshop in Sulaymaniyah to review the outcome of its work in coordination with the United Nations Electoral Assistance Mission “UNAMI”.
The workshop, in the presence of the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and members of the Council, will discuss several topics in the field of media, procedures, training, voter register, data management) and other technical, administrative and legal aspects.
