
Weekly Statement
IHEC is hoping to develop the work of the staff in the electoral field, and to achieve this aim, the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge (Jalil Adnan Khalaf) instructed to manage technical, financial, legal and administrative studies for the recent electoral process, to make use of these studies in evaluating this event and improving the level of work to guarantee the success of future performance.
In a related context, and within a systematic strategic plan, the Commission works in coordination with GEOs to spread electoral awareness to consolidate the idea of free suffrage among middle school students whose ages will be included in the upcoming elections, by conducting practices that simulate the voting process in coordination with educational institutions in the governorate as in Al-Muthanna Governorate Electoral Office, in addition to the Dohuk office, who began to organizing lectures on electoral awareness.
On the other hand, the Directorate of Political Parties and Organizations in IHEC continues to grant establish leave to parties wishing to register, they were about (266), including (5) parties were registered with conditioned leave, where about (57) parties under establishment, and ( 42) alliances approved so far.
IHEC continues to take practical measures to tabulate the data of the government’s employees who casted their votes in elections to complete the procedures related to their work in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. (174) of 2021.
On the administrative and organizational level, efforts continue to manage the file of electoral contracts employees to address their issue in changing the type of their contracts from elective to operational in the commission’s functional structure in accordance with Paragraph No. (2) of Cabinet Resolution No. (284) for the year 2021.
With regard to the polling materials, and under the direct guidance of the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Judge (Jalil Adnan Khalaf), the managers of the electoral offices supervise the warehouses of the Commission in which the voting equipments and kits were stored, to ensure their readiness and safety , and to preserve their contents.
As part of its endeavor to expand the infrastructure of the Commission, the Board of Commissioners worked to establish a professional studio to produce educational materials related to IHEC work, to keep pace with technological development. The BoC is keening to make the studio at the highest level to serve the electoral process; To be the first studio of its kind since the establishment of IHEC.
