The media teams of the Electoral Commission participate in the UNAMI workshop

On Tuesday, January 13, 2022, the development workshop for the media teams in the Media and Mass Communication Department was concluded, in the presence of the Assistant Director of the Department, Mr. Moayad Hadi. The workshop was implemented by the United Nations Electoral Assistance Mission in Iraq, UNAMI, at the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which lasted for two consecutive days.

The UN expert, Donatella Malfitano, confirmed that “this training is an opportunity to learn about the way UNAMI works and how to develop the capabilities of the staff, stressing that the United Nations Mission in Iraq UNAMI has always worked to develop and enhance these capabilities and on an ongoing basis in cooperation with the Electoral Commission.”

The UNAMI trainers, Mr. Sarmad Al-Safi and Mr. Mazen Al-Badri, accompanied the UNHCR staff on a field tour, which included the mission’s media department and the electoral assistance office, to get acquainted with the nature of work in it. Many axes were also discussed during the workshop, most notably how to conduct a television interview and a press conference, and learning about photographic techniques, professional montage and photo manipulations, as well as touching on the work of social networking sites in the UNAMI office, which was presented by the website official, Ms. Laila, indicating its importance in highlighting issues to the public, including Contributes to raising the technical level of employees.

At the end of the workshop, Mr. Ghattas presented the certificates of participation to the IHEC staff.

It is noteworthy that the establishment of these development workshops comes as part of a programmed and practical plan aimed at raising the levels of workers in the Electoral Commission / Department of Media and Mass Communication in cooperation with the United Nations Electoral Assistance Mission in Iraq.
