• The Board of Commissioners confirms that the tenth of next October is an inevitable date for elections.

IHEC is actively working hard to be abide by the timelines specified in the operational schedule for holding the elections on their scheduled date on October 10th, 2021, as the Board of Commissioners confirms that the next October, 10th is an inevitable date for general voting, and therefore IHEC has begun the process of printing ballot papers for the public and private voting, which is currently in the final stage of completion, as well as printing public voting posters and a guideline for private voting that contain the data of the ballot paper that includes all the certified candidates with their names, electoral serial numbers and their logo or image; Thus, the voter will be able to mark the name and number of his candidate for the parliamentary elections.
On the other hand, and within the organizational strategic plan for the electoral process, IHEC hadreceived (2,300,000) biometric voters cards (BVCs)for voters who updated their data during the past updating phase, including newborns of (2001, 2002, 2003), these VCs were distributed to all governorate electoral offices in coordination with the Supreme Security Committee for Elections after the examination and auditing process by the specialized committees on all cards; to ensure its safety and compliance with the technical specifications, in preparation for distributing them to the registration centers and their mobile teams for delivery to voters. Accordingly, the commission invites all voters to go to the registration centers near their place of residence; to receive their biometric cards starting from 5/8/2021.
In line with the electoral preparations and keeping pace with the electoral work, and according to the directives of the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Judge (Jaleel Adnan Khalaf), which is to follow up on the work of the electoral governorates’ offices, registration centers and their warehouses; To ensure that the work proceeds according to the plans, the members of the Board of Commissioners, the Directors General and the relevant committees shall continue their inspection tours; To find out the actual reality and provide treatments if necessary.
In the context of improving the institutional framework and the vision, mission and objectives of IHEC in preparing a project to lay the first step for the commission’s commitment to work in accordance with the system and standards the management of quality by the most recent methods and international standards, where the Secretary-General of the Board of Commissioners, instructed by the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, to prepare the staff of the Quality Department in IHEC to develop their practical skills by involving them in several workshops and training courses held in coordination with the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the National Center in the Ministry of Planning.
The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners,Judge( Jaleel Adnan Khalaf), on Thursday, July, the29th , 2021, in his office at the headquarters of IHEC in Baghdad, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council (Ali Faisal Daham), in charge of the Middle East file at the German Foreign Ministry Mr.(Christian Bock), accompanied by the German Chargé affairs (Peter Felten), where the chairman of IHEC,Judge ( Jaleel Adnan Khalaf) confirmed the full readiness at the technical and technical level to hold the elections, and thanked the German delegation for the facilities provided by the German embassy in Baghdad to facilitate the procedures of contracting with the German audiring company that will have a role in the success of upcoming elections.
Media staff in IHEC of the Department of Information and Mass Communication, its second field tour in Baghdad, this time in the Amiriya area/Karkh, after the first round, which took place in the Karrada area/ Rusafa.
The Media staff clarified in Al- Amiriya area in itssecond field visit, the nature of the new procedures of the Board of Commissioners, and also urged them to participate in the upcoming October elections, as well as to hold meetings with a the people living there in the mentioned neighborhood and listen to their observations and opinions, especially the youth among them.
